Established in 2018, FIND Energy’s Biomass-to-Clean Energy Partnerships pioneer economic empowerment, diversity in job creation, increased employment & training, and generational economic benefits while achieving a cleaner environment. FIND Energy custom-selects thermal conversion technologies and recent proven innovations to match the partnering Indigenous community’s prerequisites and the available feedstock resources in the area. 

Our ultimate aim is to transform each facility into an Indigenous-based Employment Hub, fostering economic growth and empowerment.

Melissa Minks – President 

Melissa resides in the Edmonton Area and is a Swan River First Nation band member. She has dedicated her career to enhancing waste diversion and recycling best practices. Her passion led to her co-founding the FIND Group of Companies. She achieved milestones including graduating from Red Deer College, pioneering scrap tire collection services, managing a wood recycling facility, and leading CuttingEdge Tire Recycling. In 2018, she established FIND Biomass – Swan River Hybrid Poplar Propagation Facility for afforestation and biomass supply. Committed to Indigenous and Métis communities, Melissa continues to drive sustainable infrastructure through FIND Energy’s green solutions.

Don Harfield, P. Eng. – Chief Technology Officer/ Interim Chief Executive Officer

Don is a seasoned executive, professional engineer, project manager, production operations & facilities optimizer, and researcher with over 40 years of experience in waste management, oil & gas production, and the pulp & paper industry. He was the technical lead for the Alberta Biochar Initiative including two demonstration-scale portable biochar production units. He applies his comprehensive knowledge to FIND Energy’s projects and development.

Albert Klyne – Chief Operating Officer 

Albert is a Métis born and raised in Northern Alberta. He is the founder of FIND Energy and the FIND Group of Companies. He has managed, owned, and operated drilling rigs, an oilfield consulting firm, a large pine shake operation, a wood recycling facility specializing in waste wood diversion from the landfill, and a tire recycling company that recycled the world’s largest mining tires. As a pioneer in the recycling industry, his expertise is paramount to FIND Energy’s Solutions.

Richard Seto – Chief Financial Officer 

Richard is a native Calgarian.  He earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary followed by attaining his CMA, CPA professional designation. A large part of his career has been spent in oil services, green industries, life sciences, and mineral exploration. He has managed and operated companies in both the private and public sector in Canada as well as internationally.
